It’s Israel’s 70th birthday, so we’re celebrating it with 70 Israeli startups you should know, located here in Israel or just founded by Israelis.
It was pretty hard to pick only 70 out of nearly 6,000 startups, but we managed to curate a list of well-known and lesser-known promising startups from various categories. So, without further ado, here are our picks for some of the most interesting startups in our small yet developed country, from A to Z.

1. Aidoc
The Artificial Intelligence Doctor (That’s our guess) uses AI and Deep Learning to help radiologists better understand of the medical image and point them to relevant data.

Don’t feel like eating at a restaurant or at somebody else’s house, how about a food tour only a couple of clicks away? BiteMojo offers self-guided food experience in a few cities around the globe. Get a bite (or 6, to be more or accurate) of the world.

Hey there, parents! Don’t you wish you had the ability to know who your kid is talking to and if he’s safe, both online and offline? Bosco is an app that helps you keep track of your child’s feelings and online behavior – check their mood, phone’s battery level, if they are exposed to explicit content and many different features to keep you alerted and your kid safe. Bosco is a part of sFBI, one of GKI Group’s investments.

Bringg wants to bring (pun-intended) Amazon’s delivery logistics to everyone. It’s an Open SaaS platform that helps big and small companies manage complex delivery operations. Their customers are Coca-Cola (who also invested), Kimberly Clark, Panera Bread and more

12. BuildUp

The construction industry really needs to shake up and leap into the 21st century. Luckily they have BuildUp, an app and a software that helps construction teams communicate and collaborate onsite.

13. Colu

Did somebody say “Blockchain”? Well, one of the first Israeli startups to embrace and popularize the blockchain technology was Colu. This new-ish and promising startup create local currencies to help the local business. The coin price is attached to the real and current coin.
Colu coin is accepted at many businesses in Tel-Aviv, and it’s also available in Haifa, London and Liverpool.

14. CommonSense Robotics

One of the troubles of every eCommerce company is delivering the items (like groceries) efficiently and quickly. Well, guess who’s here to solve that problem? CommonSense Robotics are building robotic micro-fulfillment centers, promising retailers 1-hour-delivery to customers.

15. CRAZE (Screenshop)

What if we told you that there’s an Israeli startup, founded by two Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn and it’s backed by the one-and-only Kim Kardashian? That’s CRAZE!
CRAZE launched an app called Screenshop that automatically detects clothes in photos (from Instagram, for example) and lets you buy them, or similar-looking products. So simple, so efficient and so-successful after Kim Kardashian promoted it.

Don’t have time to stop at the farmer’s market or there isn’t one nearby? Now you can use this online farmer’s market, that connects you directly to local producers in your area, for any fresh foods you may need. Available only in North America.

18. Feelter

Feelter developed an algorithm to monitor conversations on the web to give users an accurate review about products they are considering buying.

Amazon, look behind you (or above you) because Flytrex is heading your way. The company’s flagship product, is a smart drone for small and quick deliveries. The drone is already being tested in one the best cities in the world – Reykjavik, Iceland.  Will Flytrex deliver?

One of the most successful startups, or should we say Scale-Ups in Israel is Fiverr, that let freelancers do all sorts of jobs for $5 (Or up to $500). If you need a logo, a drawing or even a voice artist, a translation, a copywriter or someone to mix your music, find all them in Fiverr, for a low price. Also, don’t forget to offer your services if you have any expertise in these categories.

This pretty anonymous yet pretty “old” startup launched a pretty cool app at CES 2018. The app uses Fused Reality technology and lets users “star” next to celebrities or just “join” an existing video. The app is great, but it’s the technology that makes this company worthwhile.

For some, eating grasshoppers is a delicacy, for others, it looks pretty disgusting, but for Hargol (Grasshopper in Hebrew) Foodtech, it’s the future. The company specializes in mass production of protein and other products from grasshoppers, raised in a “farm”. The company won ten important prizes and it’s well-known at the Foodtech scene.

28. HipHope

Like an “airbag” for the waist, to protect seniors from falling and breaking their hip. Hip fracture is the most common injury for the elderly, and Hip-Hope’s smart wearable belt was created to prevent it, with smart fall detectors that inflate an airbag automatically. Hip-Hope is currently in beta, but will be available to get for your grandparents soon.

Maybe you’ve heard of Houzz already; now based in Palo Alto, this Israeli startup that raised over $600 million and valued at over $4 billion, became the world’s leading online platform for home remodeling and decorating, and can connect you with right professional for the job.

30. Intuition Robotics

Intuition Robotics made a lot of buzz recently, promoting their main product – ElliQ, The Active Aging Companion. This friendly-looking robot uses AI and a voice assistant to help older adults stay active and connected to their friends and families through video chats, mini-games and even interesting lectures. ElliQ helps the elderly fight the loneliness, and it’s wonderful.

Jolt started as a marketplace for booking professionals to enrich, teach employees and expand their knowledge, but recently, Jolt made a big change. Now, Jolt is “gym for your profession”. Just pay 350 NIS (About $100) a month, and join as many sessions and workshops as you want – About UI/UX, product management, marketing, entrepreneurship and more. Pretty cool idea.

Want to learn how to play the piano? Well, these days it’s easier than ever with JoyTunes’ highly-rated educational apps: Piano Dust Buster, Piano Maestro and Simply Piano. The apps teach you how to play the piano, step-by-step, while listening to you play (on a real piano or keyboard) and giving you grades.
The apps are used by more than seven million users worldwide.

Knowers is a new human-2-human travel app, that connects travelers with locals (Knowers) that provide tips, information and on-demand services to travelers. 34. LawGeex

35. Lemonade

One of the most promising startups out there is the Insurtech startup Lemonade, who are aiming to shake down the archaic insurance industry. Lemonade has an assistant, a bot called Maya, that helps customers get the insurance and get paid quickly, without any problems. They take a flat fee, pay claims super fast, and donate what’s left. Lemonade’s service is available in several locations across the U.S.
